After 400 years, Simatai Great wall is exquisite in its details and is grand as a whole, which is the only part of ancient Great walls with the original features of Ming Dynasty well reserved. Simatai Great wall is separated into eastern and western parts by a valley, which is made up of the 37℃ hot spring every year and the nippy glacial spring. Thus the lake is half cold half warm. In severe winter, the lake is still shining and rippling and fog rises. The Great wall is winding on the hills like a golden dragon with majestic vigor flying to the sky. Only in 2.4 kilometers, the altitude rises abruptly from 295 meters to 986 meters. When Ascending to the high place to enjoy a distant view, steep hills fold up. Hundreds of statues can be seen and extraordinary atmosphere can be felt.

You can see a lot of mystical scenery spots like Wangjing Tower, Cat’s eye Tower, and Fairy Tower as well as the Lean Donkey Ridge, the Heaven Stair, and the Great Wall in the air, which are regarded as the most fantastic and steep spots in the Great Wall. You can also enjoy the ever-changing Enemy Towers, Barrier Wall, Single-sided Wall and the like, as well as the magical Heaven Spring, the Huge Turtle Rock and the endlessly extending Western part of the Great Wall, which undulates and twists, tramping over hill and dale, forming a wonderful spectacle. When you step onto the western part of Simatai Great Wall, which is sloping gently, you can feel the original and almost completely kept piled wall, Daughter Wall, crenel, windows and doors, roofs, holes to roll stones downwards, shooting hole, drain, waterspout and so on. All of them are practical architectural artwork, made meticulously. You can also appreciate some exquisite adornments such as the Kylin Screen Wall, the Beast Sculpture and the Flower Sculpture.
